Early Explorers Childcare

A family owned and operated centre nestled in the heart of Avondale. Set back from the road, we have often been referred to as a 'hidden gem' and relish our peaceful and private location.

We empower children to be life-long learners by affirming each child’s unique qualities and by nurturing their self esteem.

We support childrens' cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well being, nurturing a culture of kindness and respect, through the care and support of our kaiako/teachers.

We encourage a strong connection to nature through our environment by building a sense of appreciation and care for the natural world.

As children and their whānau are at the heart of education at Early Explorers Childcare Centre, we welcome and value whānau involvement.

Healthy meals

Our on-site cook prepares nutritious meals which are refined sugar free. With a summer and winter menu, children are offered plenty of variety.

Large outdoor play area

Learning is sparked by a real connection to the natural world – grass, trees and gardens! Plenty of space for your child to explore and play.

Learning through play

Our curriculum is designed to encourage your child to explore, discover, and learn through hands-on and fun experiences.

Our kaiako are passionate about creating a homely learning environment that fosters children's curiosity, wonder and creative expression.

With support and encouragement we offer time and space for children to play, to explore and to make sense of themselves and their world at their own pace.

We embrace the aspiration of Te Whāriki, our early learning curriculum, that children become:

'competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society'.

Our aim is to fulfil this vision for every child by providing quality early learning which encourages each child to realise their potential and build a strong foundation for later learning and for life.
